Eating Paleo in Hawaii
Just landed in Kona for a race on Saturday! It's extremely easy to keep Paleo here- with the bountiful fresh fruit, wild fish and Japanese influence on food preparation, options are many and the need to make modifications are few.
The host hotel offers a breakfast buffet with several kinds of fresh fish, both raw and cooked, leafy green veg, both familiar and from afar, and more pineapple, mango, papaya, berries and so on, and so on than one could dream of!
Granted, one could easily go wrong here as well, with fried foods, and the popular Hawaiian Bread, but everything else mentioned above looks beautiful, tastes fantastic and leaves the body feeling fueled, balanced and healthy, so it's really quite a no-brainer!
Aloha!
