My Paleo Valentine
I asked my own Valentine (my husband) the other day for a blog topic idea. Yes, I do sometimes find myself for a blog topic now and then!
His suggestion was quite apropos; he thought I should write about how to do Valentine’s Day, Paleo Style.
Brilliant!
One of my favorite things to do is to take any given meal, deconstruct it and then make a new, improved Paleo-ized version of it.
However, unlike other special occasions, Valentine’s Day, as far as I’m aware, does not have a standard meal to celebrate. Yes, something involving wine and chocolate would likely be on the menu, but aside from that, it seems it’s often the case that couples either opt to dine out at their favorite special-occasion restaurant, or stay in and cook a romantic dinner together.
When we cook together to enjoy a cozy evening at home, we tend to go with the food equivalent of Chic Simple. Our typical menu might include:
- Wild baby arugula, avocado, fennel and walnut salad
- Sauteed Spinach with plenty of garlic and olive oil
- Rare grass-fed filet mignon
- One of our many fave California cabs and perhaps some raw chocolate
What’s your plan?
EMail me with your Paleo Valentine’s Day meal question before Tuesday and I’ll choose one of the inquiries I receive and write a blog about it.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
