USDA Releases New Dietary Guidelines…BUT The Food Pyramid Is Still Upside Down and Inside Out!
"Today, the USDA and the Department for Health & Human Services Announce New Dietary Guidelines to Help Americans Make Healthier Food Choices and Confront Obesity Epidemic"
Included in the new guidelines:
"The new 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans focus on balancing calories with physical activity, and encourage Americans to consume more healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat dairy products, and seafood, and to consume less sodium, saturated and trans fats, added sugars, and refined grains."
It needs to be turned upside down and sideways… and have some of the content shaken out – as in the bottom, the very foundation of it! 6 – 11 servings of bread, cereal and rice? Eliminate that entire row! The vegetables should make up the entire bottom row, the dairy needs to b e thrown out the window and get those legumes out of the presence of the meat and egg group. And to classify fat with 'sweets' as though they are both equally toxic, interchangeable and to be avoided? Oh, I could go on for hours.
Please don't heed any attention to this useless piece of information than you would to the concept that it's a good idea to buy a gigantic soft drink instead of a small one because you'll pay only $.50 more.
Not only absolutely ridiculous, but dangerous and toxic to continue to teach people that they need to keep eating these non-food items. Rubbish, complete rubbish!
