Baked Honey Cocoa Meringues

For the occasional treat, like a holiday, this version of meringue incorporates the rare bit of honey. Enjoy with fresh fruit.
Ingredients
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 cups honey
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons ground raw cacao powder
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 225º F
  2. Beat all ingredients together until stiff peaks form
  3. Shape as desired
  4. Bake on parchment paper for roughly one hour
  5. Do not remove from oven at once, but turn off the oven, open the door, and leave for at least 5 minutes
  6. Cool gradually, away from draft
